Many on the right are cheering the latest public opinion polls that say a vast majority of Americans believe the country is moving in the wrong direction. Hey, GOP - before you get all excited about defeating President Obama in 2012, you had better find a candidate of your own that will appeal to more than just conservatives. It's easy to bring a President down, but defeating an incumbent is very difficult indeed.
I can't believe that the field of potential GOP presidential candidates is so weak. With polls proclaiming that President Obama's approval is in the cellar, I would expect many strong GOP candidates lining up to take him on in 2012. However, the only people who are currently in the race on the GOP side are the same old voices from the past who can excite the GOP base - but have small appeal to Independent voters who will decided the next presidential election in 2012.
